Sahaja Meditation Helps You Eliminate Ego and Undesirable Conditionings
Over the centuries, the human ego has been cause of many problems within our families and the society we live in. In energy-based Sahaja Meditation, excessive ego in humans is attributed to a blockage in the energy center at the level of the pituitary gland. The energy center that corresponds to the aortic plexus provides us with the energy of creativity and action, the combination of energies that we use to perform all our actions. This is a powerful energy center that energizes many of our vital organs, such as the liver, colon and kidney. It also helps collect fat cells and convert them into energy for the brain to use, which powers intellect and all cognitive processes. As we perform various actions using the energy provided by the aortic plexus energy center, this energy center also purifies various organs by collecting the energy imbalances in these organs. There has to be an adjustment somewhere for these imbalances, and they end up as the ego within us.
Now, a balanced level of ego is inevitable, and even necessary. An ego is best defined as a natural reaction of all actions we perform. If we were to have no ego at all, we would probably not act at all. Identity is essential for each of us. Identity comprises one part of the ego — it sticks with us no matter where we go or what we do.When we perform any action, this results in an equal and opposite reaction within us and this is stored as the ego. In a simple way, the more actions we take, the more we accumulate the “I’ve done it” feeling as an equal and opposite reaction.
The excessive or inflated ego develops when we give ourselves more credit or praise than is warranted by our actions. Think of ego as an inflatable balloon inside your mind. Conditioning such as fame, recognition or others showering praise on us excessively can inflate our egos. The egotistical person's actions begin to have unintended impacts on others; others suffer. Our relationships are damaged.
Ego inflation causes an energy imbalance in the energy center in the pituitary gland.
Our actions create in us a second type of balloon that can be referred to as superego. Superego is the feeling of certainty that “this is how it should be done.” As we take more actions, we continue to inflate the two balloons: “I’ve done it, I’m great!” and “This is how it should always be done!” The latter creates egotistical or narcissistic conditioning within us, and excessive conditioning leads to rigidity and inflexibility. It can cause us to become stubborn and pig-headed, refusing to see the viewpoints of others.
In Sahaja Meditation, when the inner energy rises, it sucks in the balloon of excessive ego and conditioning and helps eliminate it over time. In fact, when excessive ego or “super ego” surfaces, you'll actually feel the energy imbalance again and again. And Sahaja Meditation's ability to help you become more introspective allows you become more conscious of excessive ego and conditioning within you. In fact, it becomes an early-warning system that alerts you when either of your balloons are inflating and allows you to take a step back and examine your actions and correct your course, if necessary.
